MOSSEL BAY MUNICIPALITY:  BULK WATERLINE: KLEINBRAK WATER PURIFICATION WORKS TO LANGEBERG RESERVOIRS: CONSTRUCTION WORK IN RESIDENTIAL AREA: APRIL 2017 TO DECEMBER 2017

The Mossel Bay Municipality is currently in the process of upgrading the Bulk Water Supply Pipeline from Kleinbrak Water Purification Works to Langeberg Reservoirs. The upgrade consists of an 800mm dia. pipe to be installed underground along Wassenaar Road in Seemeeupark, across Kameeldoring and Boekenhout Avenues, in Kieriehout Street down to Waboom Street and across the R328 to Oudtshoorn.

The construction work will require the following roads to be partially closed during working hours with Stop & Go traffic control and some detours during the day:

1)         Wassenaar Road will be crossed at the entrance of Hartbospark and will have a temporary partial road closure.

2)         Kameeldoring Avenue will be crossed after the Wassenaar Road intersection and will have a temporary partial road closure.

3)         Boekenhout Avenue will be crossed between the Kameeldoring Avenue and Kieriehout Street intersections and will have a temporary partial road closure.

4)         Kieriehout Street, from Boekenhout down to Waboom Street, will have limited access and driveways will be temporarily closed off during working hours. Access to the street and driveways will be opened after working hours with some disruption to the roadway and sidewalks.

5)         Besembos Crescent will be crossed at the Kieriehout Street intersection and will have a temporary partial road closure.

6)         Waboom Street will not be affected directly, but construction will take place alongside Waboom Street up to the R328 to Oudtshoorn.

7)         Katjiepiering Avenue will be crossed at the Waboom Street intersection and will have a temporary partial road closure.

The above road closures and detours will be ongoing from April 2017 to December 2017. All effort will be made to provide access after working hours with some exceptions. The Municipality wishes to apologise in advance for any inconvenience and disruption caused during this period.
